Build Up Your Companion

(Apr 13, 2011)
This week my companion has helped me become a better missionary by magnifying his new assignment as District Leader. I am impressed by the idea that magnifying your calling is simply performing the service that pertains to your calling, and have been impressed with his care and love for the district in the short time he has been assigned District Leader. I can truly tell that he loves the work here as a missionary and has great hopes for our district not only as a whole but for all the missionaries individually. He is an inspiration for me as the kind of missionary I want to become.

My companion is happy and loving and not of the world. She has created a Christ like environment around her. It has made me want to be better at making sure I am doing everything during the day necessary to have to spirit with me!

My companion is a stud. He is a perfect example of humility and desire. He is always so focused on how he can be better that it inspires me to want to try harder. He always looks for things to learn from me, even when I don’t feel like I have much to share. I am learning so much from him. I am learning so much from him.

My companion does so many things for me that I don’t even know where to begin. I’ll start off by just telling you that I love my companion! My companion feeds my fire to do missionary work. He is such an amazing missionary. One thing that he has done for me this past week is that he is so swallowed up in his mission that it consumes him. Everything he does is for fulfilling his purpose as a missionary. And through him doing this, it has made me want to do the same as well. He is the best missionary ever! He’s a super GEM.

Yesterday, my companion studied me during his study and shared it with me for companionship study. He did the PMG activity to think about yourself on the last day of your mission and who you want to be etc, but he did who he wants me to be at the end of my mission. He's so awesome. We're going to make a vision for each individual Anziano in our zone and who we think they can become this transfer.

This morning, my companion and I had a heart to heart, an improvised companionship inventory, in which we were able to talk about things that could get better in our companionship. As we talked, he was open with me and told me how he has been feeling. It was a good time of self-reflection for me and for our companionship. I am grateful that he said something and that we can continue to work on our unity in the work.
