Just Called?

Benvenuto!!!
Congratulations on your call to the best mission in the world  - The Italy Milan Mission!!!  You will soon join us in this marvelous work.

"Therefore, I, the Lord, have suffered you to come unto this place; for thus it was expedient in me for the asalvation of souls." - D&C 100:4

There is a great deal of preparation that comes with serving a mission and this page will help answer any questions or concerns that you may have.

Preach My Gospel

We are a Preach My Gospel mission and you will be expected to study and apply it throughout your entire mission. Don't wait until the MTC to start preparing. If you have a copy, study it!  If you don't, you can download a PDF copy by clicking here.  This book is inspired of God and you will see numerous miracles on your mission as you apply it in your work.

The Church has recently established a website to help you prepare for your missionary service. Check it out by clicking here.

Will I get a car?
Most likely not. There are very few areas with cars assigned, most of our missionaries walk, bike, or take public transportation.

Grooming and Dress

Check out the Church website for dress and  grooming guidelines.

Medication
As outlined in your call packet, you should bring all medications with you.  This includes vitamins and health supplements.  Medications sent from overseas very rarely make it through Italian Customs.  If you are planning to purchase more medication here in Italy, please bring your prescriptions with you.

Electrical Appliances
Electricity in Italy, as in the rest of Europe, comes out of the wall socket at 220 volts. In the US, electricity comes out of the wall socket at 110 volts. Not only the voltage, but the sockets themselves are different as well.  If you want to use American electrical devices in Italy - hairdryer, electric shaver charger, camera charger, etc... - you will need a power converter. It is recommended that you buy things like hairdryers here in Italy that already have the European plug.  However most apartments do already have one power converted for things like camera chargers.  For more information about electricity in Italy, click here.

Conclusion
With much excitement, we anticipate your arrival!  As you give your life to the Lord in this marvelous work, he will immensely bless you and your loved ones.  Thank you for your choice to serve the Lord.  You will not be disappointed!
